It seems every other day there's countless top tech company brag post about how much TC they are making. Yet you don't see hedge fund/trading firm folks brag much. Not many recent levels.fyi data points to go off of either.
I wonder if this is because part of their contract states they have to stay quiet about their absurd TCs or something. Or at the very least they are discouraged form discussing their TCs externally.
I do wonder sometimes if trading folks read MAANG+ 400K TCs and laugh amongst themselves and think "that's cute, they think they are making bank".
So tell me trading firm folks, why y'all so quiet?

Do you consider yourself a top performer? How many hours per year would you say the average SWE works and what would their pay raises look like?
You went from 450K to 610K in one year? That's insane. I don't think someone that even gets a promo at FAANG+ is usually going to get a pay bump that big in just one year.

Starting pay at top firms is 400-500K TC these days. So there's no way seniors aren't getting 1 million + TC. No way they'd accept the same pay as new grads.

Looks like you got finessed. If I were you, I'd quit in a year and then try to boomerang back or something.
