Is it been around 3 weeks since I finished my onsite with Salesforce and I still have not heard back. I sent an email to the recruiter 2 days back and she still hasn't responded. I feel like the recruiter might not be with the company anymore or on vacation. But I did not get out of office response and my email also did not bounce.
I do have email address of the manager, is it a good idea to approach him directly for feedback?

  • This happens when there is a better candidate and you are the backup. I would assume you didn’t get it unfortunately

It's a reject so no point doing anything

    • I wouldn’t say it’s a rejection. 3 weeks is long, but we don’t know the internal going-ons, and it feels short sighted to just assume it’s a rejection.

If they are interested in any way , you would hear back within a week . I would move on and give some feedback to Salesforce about the hiring process

  • I’d answer that question with.. it depends. If it was me, and I felt like I had some type of rapport with the hiring manager, or she seems warm/kind enough, I’d do it.

However, if I got the opposite vibe, then I would not.

3 weeks feels like a long time to not get an answer. And if I did reach out, and the hiring manager’s answer was “talk to Hr” I’d feel that’s a bad situation and definitely would not want that manager to be mine tbh.
