Hi, I’m getting my RSUs soon, to the tune of around 500k. I don’t need the money so I want to donate it. Question is, what is the best way to donate RSUs so the non profit gets the maximum of money? Previous years I’ve simply sold my shares and donated cash, but the non profit usually gets only half of it after taxes.
Also, feel free to share non profits you personally love so we can read about amazing things that people are doing to help others.
Edit1: paypal uses E*TRADE. apparently one can donate the shares directly. Do you go to E*TRADE and find a donate button and then find the nonprofit and donate it? Does E*TRADE then move the stocks to the nonprofits trading account? Can I assume that all non profits have a trading account?

Apple matches 200% which means if you donate 10k, the non profit gets 30k. Put that to good use!
Not good to mock someone planning to do good for others. Great job OP. I salute.
If you're rich enough that you don't need half a million dollars then looking at rich people mentality, I have difficulty buying this.
So you already got fuck-all money but weren't making donations until now ?
