I want to ask this question in the most sincere way possible.
1. What happens if you sign an offer to join a tech company (like airbnb, facebook, amazon, google) but decide not to go before your official start date? At this point, you've never officially been an employee, nor has any payment(sign-on bonus) been paid, so I wonder if it's still possible for you to be blacklisted by the company?
2. Further, are there legal consequences? (I'd imagine not since most US employments are at-will, so you can quit on your first day).
3. Lastly, I'd presume there's no legal consequences?
