Tesla Model Y or BMW?

Hey all - Debating between a Model Y & a BMW x3 M40i. Test drove both and honestly love the BMW more, but practically speaking, the Tesla is an EV and more “environmentally conscious,” which is initially what I was looking for. Tesla felt a bit boring to drive though.

I’ve heard maintenance on a BMW is high, so in that sense, Tesla seems more reasonable.

Pros & cons of both?

  • I like being fast, and Tesla produces really fast cars at reasonable price. The feeling of knowing you can destroy 99% of the cars off the line is a sweet feeling. I’ll go with Tesla.

    • Tesla cars have shit quality there’s no getting around that lol. You can have all the tech in the world but a Toyota or a Honda will get me from point A to point B without any bs for few years

    • What’s yours point? I can get any car if getting from point A to point B is the only thing I care about.

      I don’t buy Tesla for it’s build quality, I made it pretty clear that I like performance. If you want decent quality then get a bmw.

      Who cares? This is very subjective anyway.

    I find Tesla lacks the luxury experience you expect for the price tag. For this reason I’ve still stuck to BMW and Benz

    I don’t have a BMW but I have owned a Tesla in the past and a Merc. I honestly got sick of the Tesla, of having to charge and having to plan each long journey around availability of charging stations. I sold it to my BIL who was crazy for a Tesla. I’m happier with my gas guzzling SUVs. They are enjoyable to drive.
