As much as I like Slack, MSFT is out with Teams to eat them. They improved it a lot over the year and bundling with Office 365. Recently, they even let anyone sign up with no user/message limit 😬

Jeez, why is everyone ganging up on the OP? Just cos he works for CapOne?
Blind can be such a rough place sometimes.

Don’t care about cap1 background. It’s the part where almost half a million is considered low ball that throws me a little. Ya feel?

For an M2 offer at a Unicorn, 420K TC that includes paper money does sound low to me.
S'one posted an M1 offer from FB with over 500k of TC including liquid RSUs.

Granted Slack isn't FANG, but it does have a reputation of hiring great engineers.

An L5/E5 high end offer at google or Facebook would make that with half the experience

    • Lionel!, you can't keep everyone in the same basket. A guy joining from capital one might get less at L5/E5 than one from uber, Apple, LinkedIn etc. There is no single measuring stick for everyone. Even one from above companies might get less if he or she is not that good.

Other offers are negotiating leverage. Think what you will about them, but it’s really the only way to increase your offer (whether or not you think it’s lowball)
