The work at Amazon aligns with what I'm doing right now, and I like it. However, I'm worried about the company culture for obvious reasons.
Work at Microsoft is totally different from my current work, but I think it'll be a good learning experience.

Although itβs not peanuts compared to your AWS offer.
I donβt think itβs worth the risk for $17k post tax per year. I would say go with Microsoft.
If microsoft has mega backdoor roth ira and amazon doesn't then add that as well.
Microsoft has greater benefits, Amazon none. add that
Finally, dollar per hour will be greater at microsoft. now decide.
If you have a family Microsoft insurance is free for your family members, Amazon charges even for you monthly !
Microsoft pays you bonus every year based on performance where as Amazon pays you π₯
Plenty of other perks like 1500$ every year on hobby/health care/activity stuff
For benefits and work life balance you can definitely chose Microsoft.
On the other hand if you donβt care about work life balance and in a grind mode for 2 years AWS is a great place to be. Again it depends on team and ops load.
Good luck !
