I’m new to investmenting in 401k. can someone pls explain the contribution and the how to invest the money we have in the 401k account. #401k #investing

    Make sure money in account goes to target fund.

    max out company match / do both Traditional 401k and ROTH 401k / move everything in the 401k portfolios to index funds / the end.

      Well, if you don’t mind taking home less now then by all means do 100% Roth. It will be tax free at withdrawal. I do 50/50 because I do care what I take home now :)

      I don't invest at all. Take home just means, spend more. I can definitely leave with less money in hand.

    Max it out and not just up to the employer match amount. Invest in index funds like s&p 500, total stock market, a little bit of international and make sure expense ratios are low because high fees eat away at your gains.
