410TC now, should I switch?

I'm an IC6 at FB now, newly promoted last cycle, so I haven't gotten any refreshers at the new level yet. Not expecting a DE since I'm switching teams.

410 TC @ 12yoe (9 of them in startups, 3@fb). I hate preparing for interviews, but would do it for a significant bump. Realistically, how much could I get at am equivalent level at other FAANG-level companies in the bay?

    You can probably get 800k TC at lyft/uber if you manage to get staff. Big gamble but their stock could easily double if they both become profitable (which they predicted within 2 years). In which case it’ll be more like 1.2 mil TC ☺️

      No, that wasn't all stock. Stock was around 2.6M. And it was for L8.

    I like the optimism in Uber employees. I would also want Uber stock to go up because I was dumb enough buy their stock 🙌🏼

      I did, and for most companies the avg at E6 doesn't cross 480k. After my first refreshers kick in, that's a ~$30k increase in TC after tax, which isn't that significant. Not sure I really believe the Uber people with their $800k numbers...

      To be honest they might pay you big bucks because they really need help to get projects off the ground and show some profits. And if they believe you have what it takes to produce on first day then you might be able to get a bigger TC. But not sure whether it will last long 😄A company that fires a bunch of people and starts hiring again immediately is not somewhere one can have a long term future!
