Internship: Uber v/s Salesforce v/s Uber ATG
Hi people!
I have internship offers from Uber (SWE), Salesforce and Uber ATG for an internship this Summer. I've listed down some pros/cons for each according to what I feel, but I need your advice!
(Some context, I've already done 2 internships in the bay area both backend related and looking for more backend-related work. Potentially would love to try out data engineering / machine learning too.
I am graduating next year and also looking closely for FT opportunities in Canada only (for visa reasons)
=== Uber ===
- 200 interns for summer
Compensation
- $44/hr, ($65/hr OT for a maximum of 10 hours/week)
- 1k/month housing stipend + $1k in uber credits (in total)
Pros:
- Potentially matched to a team in NYC/Seattle, new location => better experience
- Heard amazing things about the projects they give to interns (impactful)
- Great mentorship
=== Uber ATG ===
- 80 interns for summer (2 on my team)
- $44/hr, ($65/hr OT for a maximum of 10 hours/week)
- 1k/month housing stipend + $1k in uber credits (in total)
Pros:
- The team at ATG has only 10 people, so great chance for impact and learning
- I think the work at ATG itself will be a very unique experience, and I might not get a similar opportunity anytime soon
- Great mentorship
- Potential FT conversion for the Toronto office
Cons:
- Pittsburg is a dull town and can get depressing
- Culture can be very faced paced, lack of structure
=== Salesforce ===
- 450 interns for the summer
Compensation:
- $48/hr
- Corp housing (or 11.5K total stipend after tax)
- Other small benefits
Pros:
- Pay is substantially better
- Intern program is the biggest amongst the three
- Potential FT conversion for Vancouver office
- Small team (10 people) => High impact
Cons:
- SF is good, but I am looking for a change of location
- Initial impression was the work is not too challenging at my team
- Have to a share room with one other if I opt for corp housing
- Not sure if this is true, but Uber is more "prestigious" than Salesforce?
- Mentorship is a hit/miss from what I gathered during the interviews
Thanks so much!

Pretty sure Uber ATG has the best resume value if that's your goal. Compensation shouldn't influence your decision for internships.
Just for the record I picked ATG over fb Google and msft for full time. Idk if that means anything to you but Im fairly confident I made the best decision.
focus on learning as much as possible while brandishing your resume
