I recently received a Software Engineering Manager job offer from iHeartMedia i am on the fence and not able to decide if i should go-ahead and accept the offer, i would appreciate if anyone could share details around work life balance, career growth, culture and benefits this would help med decide how to proceed

    • I would take the offer if the pay bump is good. Don't expect frequent raises, also they screwed everybody on their bonuses this year so don't count on that either.

      Thank you for the information, hiring manager has informed me that this position will be a manager a new team yet to be formed also there was not a lot of clarity given by the hiring manager on people management responsibilities of the role

      Thank you so much for the feedback, i have been offered the position but they did mention that this role is for a new team i tried to find out more about job responsibilities regarding whether this is a hands on role or a people management function or a combination of both but i got vauge responses from the hiring manager do you happen to know in general what are the job responaibilities of a software enginnering manager role at iHeartMedia also do you mind mentioning what was your role when you were employees at iHeart

    • I was in management. Responsibilities can vary based on the team/manager. If you have a small team (< 4) then you can probably expect to have some hands-on contributions (tech lead/manager). As team size grows you'll have to decide how your time is best spent. Maybe the hiring manager was trying to leave the door open for whichever you're interested in and you can let them know your what your looking for..
