I feel overwhelmed to do things like ramping up on a new project, codebase, language anything. in sde role, i learnt that you have to be constantly learning everyday and be agile and comfortable with changes. this has taken a toll on my mental health and i dont think i am a good fit for the role. I wouldn't say i am burned out. basically i am looking for a job where i dont have keep learning so much or deal with so many changes or be expected to be competitive and look for bigger challenges. I find stability in structure and routine. I have tried therapy. The therapist doesn't understand the stress of software job. #mentalhealth #depression

Try a couple of medications as a stop gap measure. Most of them are bad too and have weird side effects. Donโt depend on medication for too long - withdrawal can be hell. Use meditation to normalize breathing, but donโt think it can solve all your problem.
But long term, focus on investing for FIRE and gtfo from tech. Itโs a terrible place to be in your 40s if you like structure.
Downside is you should expect a significant pay cut from comercial.
