Most of your questions will be LP questions. You will have likely two interviewers that ask hands-on/technical questions. So have an answer for EVERY LP on hand, and make sure you use a different example for each if you can. Using the same example is a red flag during the post-interview discussion. Seriously, don’t neglect these - if you are deemed to have raised the bar with LP’s, it gives you more runway and breathing room if you are weak with SQL/tech.

For technical, 100% expect SQL. Know everything that fits in a SELECT, up to and including window functions. A lot of teams view window functions as the make-or-break question to take a BA or not. Possibly expect some light data modeling. I rarely see dashboarding or ETL asked for BA’s honestly, and never have had those competencies myself.

No problem. To add on, these are the LP’s assessed the most in BA loops:
      - Dive Deep
      - Earn Trust
      - Dive Deep
      - Learn and Be Curious (mostly for L4, or for a new team)
      - Ownership
      - Customer Obsession
      - Are Right, A Lot

Not to say that you won’t see others - you most definitely could. But these are the ones I’ve seen the most.

For context, I was a part of data teams over 3 years and have done 50-70 loops for both my teams and other sister teams (mostly for data engineers, but a good chunk were for BIE’s/BA’s too).

Good luck, Amazon is a great place to get good with your skills and business sense, and it’s a resume kingmaker. After Amazon, getting a job was a piece of cake, comp negotiations were very easy, and the actual job experience is invaluable. It gets some hate on Blind (some deserved, some not), but the consensus outside of the complainers is that Amazon is phenomenal for early/mid-career.
