Apple guys, I need your help!

I have an offer from Apple and a traditional company trying to get into digital side of things. While they are ready to beat my base salary offer at Apple, they find the numbers I shared about annual stock refresh (based on my discussion with the hiring manager and discussions on Blind) a bit over optimistic.

Would some of you be kind enough to answer this question non anonymously on Quora? ( I don't think screenshots of conversation on Blind or anonymous Quora answers would be believable)

I never got stock refresh number written in the offer letter. I think companies don't do it. it depends on performance.

I use to work there in the Bay Area as dev. 160 base for ICT4 (which is considered by most to be their senior band, although it's a tall band). Each year I got hipo comp of $120k stock refresh. I got $170k stock coming in. 10% target bonus and $30k sign on. I didn't negotiate much. You can probably negotiate up to 50k sign on and 200k sign on stock, even more if you're special talent with rare skillset although they have a line of people waiting to get in (but they reject a ton until they find someone especially suited for the role before making an offer; if they did make you one you have the power so negotiate). They don't promise stock refresh it's just something you get. I was easily making over $300k each year. I had an office with a leather couch (first day). Best of luck

Yup. The offer letter was nice. But most likely I will not join them. The other role is better and has potential of more impact.

You will likely never have more impact on the world in your lifetime than the work you do at Apple. This will be your life's work. That's no joke either. It's not something I could easily explain to you. I'd recommend you experience it yourself for at least a year. Once you have Apple you can always go get another joe job. There's a trolly every fifteen minutes for joe jobs.

  • You want to work for Apple and to negotiate you’re asking Apple employees to break rule #1?

(Rule #1, You don’t talk about Apple)
