I have a friend who says it's not competitive to Google
mesos will be dead or purchased in the next 5y, maybe sooner. kube is eating its lunch. not too familiar with flexport but i would be careful re: mesosphere
+1 k8s is crushing it.
Not really. It's hard to do even the simplest things with k8s. Classic Google approach. Most companies do not have the resources to train people like that. DC/OS and Docker swarm are pretty much complete packages. I think mesosphere will be acquired soon, may be by msft
Neither? I guarantee Flexport's "technology" is a bunch of new grads behind the scenes manually filling customs forms for 80hrs/week
Flexport founder is awesome and very driven. But it is not solving scale problems. It is digitizing manual workflows. They are in a very slow moving highly regulated oligopoly driven industry and hence it will take them a long time to execute.

I like the idea of flexport. But don't know how they are executing.
