Do companies that want 2-3+ YOE consider candidates with less experience?

Wondering if companies still give interview opportunities to people who have less than the required years of experience, and has anyone gotten a job after interviewing?

They might, but it's also dependent on the company. It's a very plentiful market for PMs but also a large need. Tbh, I have ~9 years PM experience in financial services institutions and I'm applying to 5-7 YOE roles because I have to discount my YOE not being in big tech.

But if you're in a unicorn and have that experience and then find a role elsewhere that really matches exactly what you did, there's a chance.

Overall my advice is it never hurts but do not make this your primary target for role.
