  As 16 YOE, I had no trouble finding tons of opportunities/offers when I went looking last month.
  
  I was worried as a 22 year old if I could be employed into my 40s. Now as a 40 year old I'm confident I can make it well into my 50s. I am an IC at a startup now (left Amazon).

Is this supposed to be high? For 20YOE that sounds normal. If you were non IC track you’d be looking at VP roles and minimum 1M TC anyway.

Even shit like Groupon would be pay a million for a SVP with two decades of great experience

  You guys must have drug habits. I made $768k this year and haven't made less than $500k in a while. We have a house in one of the "good school district" areas that's almost paid off, house in Tahoe paid off, house on the coast paid off, condo in Chicago, paid off, kid in top 10 private university with zero financial aid, grants or loans ($80k) and we are doing totally fine in the bay and have zero desire to ever leave.
