Uplevel From Google?

So when I last posted I had an L4 offer from Google. They were on the fence on promotion and my manager was looking to put me on a "fast track" for promotion (whatever that meant lol).

Now, I get a call from the recruiter that they have up-leveled me to L5

Still feels like a solid offer and probably going to take it.

My boss is currently thinking about counter-offering. Does Google care about counter-offers from existing employers or only other workplace offers?
