  • No. A competitive offer is worth at least 50k. An extra month of wait + couple of days of interviews to earn 50k! Think about that before accepting...

    • Right. It’s a really shit thing to do. It just means they won’t respect you as an employee.

I received an uber offer and just told my recruiter I was booked in for a Facebook on-site and they were completely fine with it, we just kept on extending it a week at a time and I kept them updated on where I was in the Facebook process. It was probably a month before I eventually declined it, but Uber were great throughout the process.

You can skip two sigma, the pay is extremely low comparing to fb or google, like 30% lower. Fb interview is a must in your situation. Google interview will take a month total.

It happened to me before. I asked 50% increase on RSU otherwise I would finish a few other interviews (scheduled a few days later). Uber accepted the bid and I accepted the offer. Name your price which you are happy to take considering the opportunity cost. Otherwise just keep interviewing. The key is dont get pushed to accept an offer you feel you might regret in future.

Really depends on what your priorities are and how much Uber has checked those. If you want to shop around, getting more offers is a good way to go. It can be a good negotiation tactics for some companies as well - for Uber, from what I have heard are offers have less room for it.

The two risks you have with delaying accepting an offer for Uber or similar companies are:
    - The team you have interviewed with will fill their headcount and you’ll need to be allocated to another team (a risk if you were passionate about the team you talked with)
    - Should Uber’s valuation change before you accept, your stock numbers might change. Recently our 409a valuation went up significantly meaning less # of stock for the same TC for those joining after this happened. (This is a small risk and valuation can go both ways - though few of us @ Uber think it will not go further up)

Honestly, if you like the offer for any company (numbers, future team, mission etc) than you need to decide how much else you want to interview elsewhere. And if some of the previous are not looking good in your opinion, you should just not accept it.
