Id say keep it until you’re near the warranty range. Car costs are artificially high right now (not sure how much cost inflation would be offset by your trade in value being higher but I suspect you’d still net out overpaying)… it would make financial sense to wait a year or two before trading in.
Plus with full autopilot coming out “soon”, other mid- to high-end electric cars are about to get a metric ton of new features to keep up with Tesla, so I suspect the BMW i-whatever in 2 years will be very cool.
