Hi all,
I interviewed yesterday at Capital One and they let me know they'll be giving me an offer once I go through team matching, curious to hear which teams people would recommend trying to get into, what are the relative pros/cons of different teams. They're starting me off with a meeting w/someone in the cyber security group. They didn't discuss details but I'd expect to be either software engineer or senior software engineer. Thanks everyone

Your base at SA wouldn’t be much higher than $125k (it’d probably be around $135k btw), whereas PA would start you around $150k. (McLean figures btw)
Promotion from SA to PA can be pretty political and is NOT merit based, so don’t count on your expertise getting you promoted.
You could win a Turing Award but if you didn’t give presentations and/or collaborate publicly across teams then you won’t get promoted.
It’s pretty dumb imo. Obv the Turing Award bit is hyperbole.
Level up or down it would be same level. Recruiter would discuss the change of level before team matching
