Salesforce vs Morgan Stanley

Recently got an offer for salesforce sales strategy (105K TC) vs Morgan Stanley IB Strategy (135K TC). Salesforce will be 40-50 hours a week remote until 2022 and then will have a hybrid working model, most likely going in office 2-3 times a week vs Morgan Stanley will be on average 60 hours a week in office full time. Is it worth the 30K extra in compensation to commute to office daily + 10-20 more hours per week? In terms of pay progression, I think Morgan Stanley will definitely be a lot faster and the pay gap will only widen.

No it’s not. Salesforce to my knowledge is rated much better in every way over MS (culture, WL balance etc).

Not in Sales Strategy. Prepare to work late nights in Sales Strategy as well, especially during Q4 and Q1.

Depends on what domain you want to stick to. If you want to work in strategy and operations, I think salesforce is better. If you want to work in finance Morgan Stanley might be better.

For a strategy role, I feel MS is better. And Blind is a wrong place to ask this question!! Everyone is going to say Salesforce cause most people won’t understand IB here.

100% agree with this

What site is better for these questions?

This highly depends on if you have a family and if u are young. If your young and family free take the MS offer and grind it out for a couple years and you’ll be worth a lot later, but if u have family and need the time SF is the way to go.

Totally agree

You will make much more than the $30k by hopping jobs in a year. 60 hours a week is grossly inappropriate for anything under $400k/year, and not really fully appropriate until $1m/year

These are very different cultures. You need to decide if you want SV or Wall street. As WS goes though MS is obvs the best tech-wise.

Yes. Always select the higher salary package when kind of work and people you work with are similar. Spend one month on boarding, work for 3-6 months getting high rating, and then plan to quit for next higher package by ramping down work. Repeat until you start making 500k. Then rest and vest.

Can we switch jobs often? Do we get calls if we switch every year?

I’d use the MS offer to increase my SF offer. Then I’d go work at SF

JPMorgan Chase tmanruww Nov 1, 2021

SF wouldn’t budge :(
