Old formula was 100-your age for a stock/bond mix %. That’s probably too conservative. I use 110 minus my age.
This will give you a good diversified mix of stocks and bonds. If by safe you mean “will not lose value”, then there should be some cash/stable value option. But that wouldn’t make sense in a retirement account unless you don’t plan to live long.
