Hi you blind shits (love you all)

Got a Google L4 (or L5 based on additional interviews) offer and also a Meta E5 offer. Google hasn't given any numbers yet because team matching is still going on.

Meta came in with this...

Base: 205k
RSU: 800/4 years
Sign On: 90k

Is there any chance Google matches or beats this? Is this near the max I can expect from Meta (recruiter said it's max) or can I push for more? If Google is L4, Meta is the move right?

Stay blind yall

  • If that’s for Seattle that’s a near MAX E5 offer. Even for the Bay Area/NYC you’re not too far off max. Not sure Google is going to match that but they might 🤷‍♂️

I just chose Meta E5 over G L5 primarily because of the time/path to E6/L6 and beyond. My understanding is that it takes FOREVER at Google to move up after hitting senior and it might never happen. Meta is a lot faster, though nothing is guaranteed of course. So consider that as well.

Very decent meta offer. L4 google will not even come close to this. L5 will be a long shot as well since they'll need to be convinced beyond reasonable doubt that you are a strong l5 to come close to your meta offer. Also prospects at promos are higher at meta.

Sounds unemployed. Or something so low, not worth mentioning. So anything is better than zero at this point. 😂

    Congrats on the offer!

    G L4 won’t be able to beat meta e5.

What’s your yoe? And could you share how’d you prep for it?

      Edited original post with YOE.

Prep: LC top questions by companies and for systems design it was mostly work experience from before. Didn't prep that much.
