Company sent me an offer that they want me to sign within 3 hours. Red flag?
I'm a software developer with 1.5 YOE and I'm satisfied with my current employer, except their salary ($68K) and PTO (10 days, doesn't roll over). While I haven't been actively pursuing jobs, recruiters having been reaching out to me left and right on LinkedIn, with varying degrees of quality. I've been picky with them since I'd only like to leave my current position if they check all the boxes (higher pay, better PTO & benefits, direct hire, great WLB, permanently WFH, good tech stack, etc.). I do want to reiterate that I really do like my current job except for mostly the pay.
That said, I just recently got a job offer from SS&C for $100k + 10% performance bonus and unlimited PTO. The recruiter sent me the email at 2 PM and they want me to sign it by 5 PM same day. Is this a red flag?
Other things worth mentioning about SS&C is that they've apparently had annual layoffs the past 5 years and they drug test. The job description seems good and the reviews mention good WLB, but I hear unlimited PTO can be worse than guaranteed limited PTO. I'm also concerned about job security and I'm morally against drug testing (what I do in my free time is none of your business, especially if I do my job well).
I plan on asking for an extension to give me more time to think about this offer, especially since I've still been interviewing elsewhere. Does this fintech company seem to have any red flags? # # #tech
