Solution Architect is PreSales, Cloud Architect is Post Sales. But in his post he specifically says Professional Services Architect for AWS, which I have to assume is post sales as well.
I have a similar situation. GCP enterprise architect role Vs AWS senior SA. Which one is better and which organisation is better to work for from a long term perspective. From compensation point of view, which is better. I have a current offer from AWS and GCP is in process.
You’ll do far more hands on project work in PS, and more consulting/selling/prototyping as a CE with GCP.
Major difference is that a GCP CE has a large variable comp component (42%). A lot of upside if you exceed your quota but unsure how common that is at GCP and in my experience, never assume you will meet your quota annually.
