I've accepted an offer, but my manager wants to counter. Idk why, thought counters were unheard of for low levels. Do I wait for the counter? Or Msft won't even be able to match and I should just leave?
I've heard offering promos is one way to counter, but I don't like the idea of being promoted just to increase my compensation. Maybe msft should just raise their bands lol.

When the person tries to leave they have to get permissions from higher levels to counter.
Just because the employer values your work it doesn’t mean you get more money. A counter offer pushes them to go above and beyond.
Google certainly counters at L4 and above, and L4 is pretty low, although not entry level
