I’ve applied online to several Sr UX positions. Never hear back. Does Apple use some algorithm or tag scanning of resumes? Or do I need a referral to get in, or maybe they hate Amazon.

Apple requires a high level of craft even for UX positions. If your resume is strong and you’re not getting interviews, there’s a good chance you may need to improve the craft in your portfolio.

Also, how long ago did you apply? Apple is notorious for being super slow to respond.

I interviewed late last year without a referral, a couple months after I applied online. I ended up going a different direction after getting strong offers from 4 other companies

2 yrs ago I got pinged by an Apple recruiter on LinkedIn without applying and went through the interview process and got an offer but choose the Amazon offer instead. It seemed so easy, must have been a fluke. Now I’ve applied for a few positions over the past month and heard nothing.

I have Google analytics on my website but it’s hard to tell if anyone from Apple has gone there since everyone is wfh. So I’m not sure if my resume is getting any traction. I’ll look at both.

Every team sets their own hiring standards, so what worked with a team 2 years ago may not work with different teams now. Also, given the time frame, you were likely not senior level the last time you interviewed, which brings a new set of expectations.
