Just wondering, at a mid level in front end engineering in Boston, what do you think most places expect? Should you be able to tackle hard problems on Leetcode? Just trying to steer my career in the direction of a big company like Amazon or FB

Besides studying, do practice interviews at places you care about less before the ones you care about more.

The last thing I'd want in a front end engineer is leetcode. That's ridiculous.

I mean, front-end engineers should have at least basic knowledge of those concepts. How do you think the browser knows how to render what you specify in the DOM?

Regardless, Boston in general is less leetcode-obsessed than the Bay in general. Expect 1 round of leetcode and a lot more design questions most places. If you interview at big global companies though, prep your leetcode or fail.

Fitbit, basic-yeah. Leetcode medium-hard level - I don't think so. I am not a front end engineer but imo, knowing JavaScript in and out, functional programming and how to architect for performance and speed are not measurable by leetcode questions and are far more valuable
