I am non-US and interested in emmigrating to Canada but not sure what the correct process to follow is.

Do big companies like Google and Amazon sponsor work permits/visas or should I try the Express Entry lottery first and only apply for jobs in Canada once I have the Visa?

Do express entry first. There are rules that prevent getting a PR for the first year of you already have a work permit active.

There's a rule that you get more points after 1yr of work experience in Canada. This helps with Express Entry process. I went through this. But you can apply before 1yr, I saw colleagues doing that.

You can do both. They are not XOR of each other.

Cool thanks for the reply. So in the most optimistic scenario I don't need to do anything regarding visa applications until I get an offer?

Do express entry first. However, market has gone sideways currently and there are a lot of layoffs. Getting a job here is very difficult now.
