I’m a junior at a top 10 school. Previously interned at NASA and served as a founding engineer of a series A startup. I’ve always wanted to work in the healthcare tech startup space and so I’ve been following zocdoc for a while. Would love to chat with people from the company or other startups in a similar industry.
LinkedIn is your friend for this sort of thing. Find the company, go to the People tab and try to find current employees with some connection to you. Search for your school, for a start. Reach out to a couple of those people with your pitch and set up an informational chat. Good luck.
Believe me I’ve tried :( no one seems interested in replying when I cold message them
Got it. I guess there’s your answer to a certain extent. Maybe try again when there is a specific role that interests you? I probably wouldn’t respond to a junior in college unless there was some affinity or someone I know asked me to. Especially if I wasn’t trying to fill a role for which they were qualified. It’s hard starting out, but as a junior you’re quite well ahead of the herd. Keep hustling.
