I am already pretty low at 85k. Got rejected in the onsite round by facebook because out of 6 ds/algo question I solved during interview, 1 was with brute force. I know I can do better, but having doubt about future as I am not receiving calls even after referral.

That's exactly I don't want to do. Rather than focusing on my work, I will be preparing for next company. In 12+ years I have made only 1 switch.

This is exactly why your TC is 85k. If people know you're going to stick around for a long time regardless, why give you a raise?

Actually I moved from India in 2019 and that is why it is 85k. I had no idea about the median pay in US and different cities.

  • Think of it this way, if your making 85k your basically Doubling your pay. I'd take it, if your in Seattle there is tech galore down the road. With Cisco you'll get a nice wlb unlike many other companies.

I am in Chicago suburbs. Cost of living is much cheaper. I have no problem moving to Seattle. But I have to take cost of living into the account while making the decision.
