1. Assume all the companies provide competitive salaries top of the market, with Airbnb, Lyft, Reddit and Netflix as Top of market with few thousand dollars + or -. 2. Airbnb having highest overall compensation 3. Role relevance order and match are at: Airbnb > Reddit > Netflix > Lyft > Apple > Atlassian 4. This is for a between L4 to L5 (OR) Senior Engineer (OR) Senior developer II (OR) Senior engineer II depending on the company nomenclature. Please shed some light or thoughts on which one would have some edge. Should you need more info, I can share. EDIT Since TC was asked in all posts. The best compensation offered atm is at 330K per annum with base of 200K. This includes equity at today's offered rate. Rest are around same. EDIT 2 Another ballpark: Lyft offered the best equity so far totaling 553K vested over 4 years. But their base is much lesser at 175K.
goto lyft, they will be liquid soon!
Airbnb Easier to get future interviews.
Airbnb
What is airbnb vs netflix comp? Shocked netflix doesnt beat airbnb easily
Netflix beat in base. Airbnb gave counter with large equity. So the diff is about 5 to 6 percent. Still base was appealing in airbnb. I liked the role at airbnb.
Pinterest takes a hit on the valuation on their IPO plan. What Airbnb offers may take a hit too when it becomes liquid. Always discount illiquid equity.
Didn't you answer the question yourself. You put Airbnb at the top of all the lists that you mentioned.
I did that is what i preferred. But i had confusions aroud reddit or lyft or netflix. Wanted to see if there are majority edge around something else. Thanks.
What’s your TC and TC of offers? Me personally I would go for cash at Netflix but if you want to gamble then sure go for equity
Thanks for your response. Cash is great. Got some without much greed in the offers. Only scare for netflix is the culture of fear. My interviews had many many culture questions. I did pass them but inside me there is some fear.
I mean depends how long you wanna be at your next company. If you only wanna stay for two years or so then I don’t think the culture of fear matters much because you’ll be leaving anyway. If you’re looking for a company to stay at as long as possible then yeah idk
Post TC of the offers. I'd join the strongest team.
Thanks. What is your definition of strong team? The one with relevant role or the one with best problem statement.
I see a strong team as one that can offer the best opportunity for career growth and advancement. They are valued in the company, expanding, and have an impactful roadmap.
