How’s the difficulty of Dropbox interviews compared to Amazon’s? TC ~200 YOE ~5 #faang #dropbox #engineering #swe
Dropbox interviews are as difficult (if not more) than G and FB. People who r commenting its interviewers fault, obviously got rejected n hence angry, and people who r like “dropbox is sinking ship” r the ideal example of “i gave interviews but didn’t clear it and hence its a bad company anyways, really examples of bad grapes story” 🤣🤣 Our interviews r really focused on understanding ur true knowledge of system, coding and past experience and it’s difficult to fake it (except the coding interviews which is not that difficult to fake)
You talk too much and don't listen thats your problem. Perhaps the same Junior noob interviewer others are complaining abt. Goog/Fb rejected you so asking hard questions to others?
Sure i was just born yesterday n joined Dropbox n rejected by all. r u happy now @Microsoft Honestly i shouldn’t even reply to MS folks, u r not even same tier dude. Go back to ur $10 pay job plz.
Our interviews are mixture of leetcode medium/hards + concurrency + system design. Most engineers fail concurrency and system parts, and think they answer perfectly even tho they obviously show missing knowledge when we ask follow ups. Source - I’m an interviewer
I should also say that this is a good way to push out the leetcode code monkeys who grind leetcode and crack FAANG but don’t understand software implementation at large scale. To answer your question, IMO our interview level is somewhere around FG but definitely harder than Microsoft/Amazon
Our interviews are more difficult to crack than G F for system design n dive deep But coding wise its not that different. LC Medium/Hard with system knowledge shud do it Most candidates get rejected in non-coding interviews since u cannot fake them
Dropbox interviews are not difficult but they are picky. Room for error isn’t much. Also, company is stagnant but no sinking ship by any means. I think it’s not for everyone to work there especially if you are looking for YOY stock growth.
Looking at the question rubrics, I think there is a decent amount of room for error. 🤷♂️
Explain. How much. Eg - ID generator question.
IMO as someone who’s passed both, Amazon is easier. Dropbox has some bullshit questions IMO.
bullshit coding questions or bullshit behavioural questions?
Bullshit coding. “Oh you’re a full stack engineer working on some web app? Here let me ask you about concurrency and give you a no hire.” Like wtf what gives?
Sheets hard man, I did two phone screens, both LC hard. I made it to onsite, but I had imposter syndrome back then, so I simply dropped out saying situation changed.
Depends on interviewer. Question itself is pretty easy but I got paired with a junior interviewer who was dead set on a specific implementation and rejected alternative solutions.
Seems a lot of their interviewers are like this. I gave a perfect implementation for all problems and still got rejected.
All their interviewers are noobs?
