Have been reading about Upstart’s business model and how it is decently correlated to the overall financial market .

Recent stock price movements seem to suggest a somewhat gloomy outlook.

Curious about any layoffs, hiring freeze, or cautious tales .

    The 5 year outlook is possibly the most promising among all fintech. The short term price action is just noise. They just started entering bigger markets that are 10x and 100x respectively bigger than the market they are currently serving and they are already profitable in the initial market (personal loan underwriting).

    Already profitable, expecting revenue growth of ~60% for this year, only ~1600 employees (source LinkedIn), 1Bn cash on balance sheet and folks are worried about layoffs lol. Fintech companies which are bleeding money might be risky at this point.
