Thoughts on this role for LcS team:

Wlb - most important for me. Is this good on wlb or is it very team dependent?

Career progression: Can you transition to other roles at google from this one and if so which ones are most common?

Work: What do you actually do in this role and what skills are valuable?

  • WLB: team dependent, more often than not, driven by manager and director
Career progression: yes, within ads usually a lot easier but I don’t see why anything outside ads is a barrier. A bigger blocker will be your level. If you are 4-5 then roles are aplenty
Work: not so sure about specifics but from first hand analytical leads, it’s usually about pleasing your clients and there is a lot of pressure or do that. Business analyst - charts & Data

Interesting! Thanks for this insight. Would you say on average it’s a high pressure role? Any idea on hours per week?

    • Not sure on hours per week but a very misconception is that you can get 9-5 at google and coast. Maybe if you are 0.01% of IQ spectrum and as a SWE or highly technical role.

Pressure from clients and projects shoved down your throat does seem to be real. How much is it and whether it’s manageable, depends on individual and team.
