My job gives me $75/mo. for wellness, which gym should I pick? Not one of these?

      Planet fitness sucks! They don’t have squatting racks, benches and barbells. It’s basically just machines for grandmas lol.

    I’m all about SFFitness. Well worth the price IMO. Even the gym in the castro is spotless and clean, and the equipment is all modern and well maintained. Plus they all have olympic lifting platforms and a few (I think, have only been to castro and midmarket so I’m not sure) have pools, so if you ever want a swim you can just go to one that has a pool which is real nice in the summer. Plus the higher price brings in a much more pleasant kind of gym crowd.

      Unfortunately I have a long commute back to the South Bay via muni and Caltrain so staying that late isn’t realistic, but I’ll stop by and check it out after work.

      Oh if I worked in the South Bay I would definitely not go with a SF based gym. I’d probably aim for a gym near my caltrain stop in the South Bay. I’d imagine Gyms in SF are more crowded than those in the South Bay or the peninsula.

    • I don't go to the SF one's. Can't comment about the particular location but I liked it overall. Much better compared to OTF especially.

      Embarcadero crunch is pretty ok. Worked out there for 4 years straight up until 2017, and loved it because it was across work.

    I go to 24hour. It’s great value for the price if you don’t need a shower or towel service. Can be crowded at 6pm on Monday but that’s all gyms
