Hello!

Got an offer from AMZL to join their last mile team as Process Engineer (L5). I interviewed for the L6 role and was offered the L5.

Offer:
100k Base
25k/17.5k Y1/Y2 bonus
17 RSU

I have another offer from Shopify to join their robotics division for a TC of 135k. The role allows me to work remote ( I am based out of Atlanta,GA). I have around 3.5 YOE

The AMZL offer is based out of Bellevue,WA and requires me to relocate.

Can someone please share insights on what the supply chain roles at Amazon are like?

Is there a chance I can negotiate the pay with Amazon - I already tried one round of negotiation and they ended up increasing my bonus by 5k/2.5k for Y1/Y2. Is there a chance I can negotiate for them to match my other offer or is there a risk of offer being rescinded?

Last mile is undoubtedly among the worst teams in Amazon. Amazon is already known for bad culture and this is the worst of it. Given you have another offer which might even be better in TC, skipping over Amazon seems like a no brainer.

Congratz on both offer, my opinion would be to go with shopify as you can save a lot more in GA than WA, also since they down leveled you it means you can always try for L6 in future for better TC. Good luck.

Just a heads up, you will likely be required to work nights with AMZL and oversee the nightly Sortation operation.

Congrats on both offers! I donโ€™t know much about Shopify but have worked in Operations at Amazon and Iโ€™ll say that Last Mile was one of the worst teams. Lots of new managers who didnโ€™t know anything and just end up putting people on PIPs. WLB was also awful and so much politics too!

Hey I would take the Shopify offer process engineer at Amazon is pretty boring.

Thank you so much for the advice!. The only reason I want to be part of amazon is due to the fact that I can't get the last mile delivery learning opportunity or expertise elsewhere. A hard decision between TC and learning

For what's its worth the process engineering job is mostly auditing and ensuring standard processes are followed rather then innovating or creating the processes themselves. Youll probably learn a lot in both roles so it's up to you.
