The most dysfunctional interview at Citi
Had a prescreen with Citi bank for mid management role, and had the most disorganised interview in my experience.
They pretty much broke every good practice.
I know it’s called shitty bank for a reason, but Recruiter suggested to talk to the hiring manager and decide for yourself. So I thought what will I lose? Good warm up interviewing and such.
So…
For scheduling, pick your time slot between 7 and 8am. Well it’s actually more like 7am, only.
The promised hiring manger didn’t join. Instead there were two program managers who were not technical clearly.
joined the zoom room while these two were discussing some work related topic.
without any personal intro one of them started asking if I used any patterns while designing my product with micro services.
didn’t even ask me to introduce myself.
One of the interviewers kept interrupting my answers with pivoting questions. Said that I can interrupt her as well?!
one of the interviewer didn’t have video. It was a video call. Another interview needed to step away for few min during the interview allegedly to take a leak.
no time for me to ask questions about the role, because couple minutes before the time, another candidate joined the video room, so they abruptly said good bye.
At least they didn’t abuse me verbally…
