I'm going to be intentionally even more vague than I'd normally be on Blind to avoid doxxing myself for obvious reasons. But I'll do my best to answer as accurately and truthfully as possible without giving myself away.

First the basics:
YOE: 8

Job 1 - Senior SWE (public tech)
TC = ~400k (160k base, ~240k RSU/year)

Job 2 - Senior SWE (pre-IPO tech)
TC = ~350k depending on how you count (250k base + bonus, ~100k monopoly money)

      When I'm making $750k/year, it doesn't really make sense for me to add a third job that's gonna pay like $20/hr max. It's negligible to the bottom line and takes away valuable rest/recovery time.

      Do you ever have overlapping meetings or events? This feels like the easiest way for this to go wrong, unless the pre-IPO job is very hands-off or you're the main engineer.

    Are they aware of it?
    It’s like sleeping with with two partners, it’s more ethical if they know. They may even be into it.

      No, they're not aware of it. Maybe it'd be more ethical if they knew. But I'm not willing to risk this golden situation by telling them. I'm making them happy with my work performance so that satisfies my conscience.

    • Please let us know if you get promoted ahead of some poor soul that's been grinding hard for years at one of the companies.
