I am making more than that now and let them know I expected more in written offer.

That would be standard offer for E4 according to levels FYI.Are you SWE E5?
As mentioned by a few - though most experience is with tier 1 cities (ny/sf) still doesn’t justify over 100k cut from tier one city.
I’m surprised recruiter let out such a weak offer.
