Amazon recruiter email instead of call
I received an email from a recruiter at Amazon for a couple of supply chain positions. It contained a questionnaire with some typical recruiter questions such as visa status, highest education etc. But there were two other things that seemed a bit different to me.
1. The recruiter asked me to clearly mention my salary expectations and give a range for base, bonus and equity in email. I would generally avoid answering this at the beginning of any recruitment process, but the email said that they won’t move forward without this.
2. Second, there were few behavioral questions in the email based on LPs. I know that these should be expected throughout the interview process with Amazon, but asking these in an email, is that normal? The questions are pretty detailed, like the ones you have to write for MBA program application SOPs.
I am not sure how important it is to answer the second part if they cannot meet the expectations in the first place.
I am looking for 2 pieces of advice from the Blind community:
1. How much is the pay range that I should ask for? The position is either Senior Supply Chain Program Manager (L6) or a commodity manager (level unknown) in Seattle. The recruiter mentioned that my application is being considered for both.
2. How important it is to answer behavioral questions right now via email? Is this normal process or is the recruiter just trying to save time?
Current: I am in supply chain and managing a small team.
YOE: 8 years (4 years in US and 4 outside US; all relevant supply chain experience, Engineering + Masters)
TC: $340k (with stock valued at $2000).
PS: If they can’t even match the TC then I won’t leave. I am not sure if Amazon can even match this.

Regardless, I doubt Amazon is going to pay $340k for L6 non tech. Few of my friends joined at around $250k. Guessing your Tc at tesla would have been inline if you exclude stock appreciation? Why not try for a higher level at Amazon to sustain higher TC.
