We all know the true reason behind this is to protect the interests of certain entities (govts/corps), whatever official explanation that was given is else just a facade. They went even further to enforce this censorship by specifically disabling these metrics from their data API from Dec 13, just to deter any alternative workarounds eg extensions.
What some of us are genuinely interested to know is whatβs going on behind the scenes, esp with regards to considerations, rationale, discussions being made revolving this decision (if any), or what is being told to the employees. Appreciate if those who are familiar/closely working with this area within the company could provide some insight on whatever is going on internally.
