Huge potential, very differentiated security product.
Awesome team, awesome product. Another Sutter Hill 🚀
Does the last funding announcements changes things? The have a lot of cash but investors will want their investment to pay big time, no?
The expectations for the company have always been sky high and rightly so. The opportunity to secure software on clouds is massive.
Does it make sense to join this company at this stage. Is there a good chance you can retire after they ipo?
Yes, it looks like a Snowflake sized opportunity . But be prepared to wait a long time, I doubt they are anywhere near IPO.
I also wonder how do people evaluate offers from pre IPO companies against those from public companies. Like how much is enough or comparable when talking between RSUs and Options? Maybe someone can take an example of Snowflake vs Lacework?
Horrific culture for sales. Micromanagers. Customers are smb and mid market. They pay resellers $1200 for a meeting. That said, it will probably have a great exit.
Just a matter of time before cloud providers simply implement their own version of these security tools as a service. In fact, many already have - but they aren’t nearly as elaborate. The only competitive advantage remaining will be multicloud - as cloud vendors likely won’t build their services with that in mind.
Isn’t multi cloud a good reason?
Maybe. Datadog, New Relic, Snowflake, Mongodb and many others are doing just fine despite hearing that same argument for years. Customers need to know what their apps do and AWS doesn’t want to be inside your app.
