I think the model 3 is way too expensive given that you spend close to 48,000 with auto pilot and full 310 mile range and loan. This gives you no supercharging too. Am I missing something or is this all you get for 48,000 USD. Help me decide before the 31st 😊 I'm 6 years into my gasoline car and thinking if I should go for the model 3. But with this and the 310 mile range without supercharging, im concerned. Also, I live in a apartment in the bay area without any charging capability and take trips to nearby places (500 mile rt) once a month. So, is this really worth it?

Edit: will update on 31st if I bought the car or not.
Edit: didn't buy the car today, 31st. 😏the car is nice, but the total cost of ownership comes to 53000 and not 48000. That's actually 8000 more than my top line budget.

The advertised 35k price was never true.
The cost-benefit depends on your cost of gas and home electricity. For every 100K miles, a Model 3 will save you about $10K ($.12/kWh and $4/gallon gas) between that plus regular maintenance like oil changes that are no longer needed.
To date, Tesla’s have also depreciated about 20% less than equivalent cars, so you might save $5K of resale on the backend.
Tax credit is probably gone at this point, so that doesn’t factor in I don’t believe.
Net/net, it’s cost equivalent combustion engine equal brand auto would need to cost around $33K. The base model of a 320i AWD starts at $37K.
