I am currently in US, on H1B (Status changed from F1 to H1B under change of status (COS) processing on October 1st 2020)
I desperately need to visit India to attend to my father's medical emergency (currently on ventilator due to Covid-19), and return back to US to resume my job (to pay for medical bills, education loan, parents are dependents) I have a confirmed appointment for March, however it could get cancelled if I don't have emergency approval (as per the tweet from embassy, not sure however) I am not eligible for interview waiver (dropbox facility), as this would be my first stamping.
I have already raised emergency appointment request, but still waiting on their decision.
Need to know if I'm missing something. Requesting the community to guide me if someone has been in a similar situation.
P.S. - This is my first post on blind, please let me know if I need to add further details.

This link has more details.. I guess doc supporting your request matters like letter from employer etc
@ipad9 the emergency is for my father, so yes you're right, my case doesn't neatly fit into their emergency requirements. However it is an emergency, I hope they approve it on humanitarian grounds.
Thanks for the replies.
Check with your manager as well and try to explain the situation
Usually what I’ve seen is the EA(expedited appointment) are being given to people who are stuck abroad and are separated from family in US for a long time.
Your case might work - not sure. Good luck.
