How does working at IC compare to FB?
Please comment with regards to WLB, PSC stress and the amount of impact needed to be successful at l5 / l6.
Are there two performance cycles in a year just like FB?
Are the projects more top down or you have to come up with your own projects at senior level?
Any specific observations comparing Data Science would be immensely helpful.

PSC/Perf stress is less since it’s an annual review. That said 50% of the company haven’t had one yet and it’s constantly changing so could change.
Projects are a mix. For infra teams, it’s more coming up with own. For product projects, it’s more top down and eng has their input but it’s definitely more top down.
Can’t compare data science, I’m SWE. But the data scientist I work with seems chill, he’s been here a few years.
Would recommend checking out either blind reviews or talking to people who actually work there instead of “I have a friend who wants to quit, it’s toxic, believe me”. Morale is good and people genuinely like working here, my peers are some of the best I’ve worked with.
So I would be very cautious.
"I have a friend and..." usually give random reviews..
I jumped after years in Amazon and loving it here ! My team in Amazon was pretty good too (35-40 hr/week).. and here it's even better (30-35hr/week) and almost double the pay.
