I have two nearly identical offers of $240k from Amazon and Tesla. I have 2 small kids. I want to optimize for WLB and lack of toxicity. Help me decide. Amazon is in their Prime group and Tesla in their Digital Experience group.

I was at Tesla for 2 years and feel like I did 5 years worth of worth during that time. It was the most challenging work I’ve ever done and looking back at it, it was the most rewarding and the highlight of my career thus far. If you’re a person who’s driven by Tesla’s mission of accelerating towards a sustainable future then join them. The flip side is that you’ll have to put in a lot of hours because they move faster than most companies (based on my experience). I ultimately left due to WLB reasons after my kids were born.
Amazon WLB has been good thus far ( relatively speaking since I’m comparing it to my time at Tesla).
Ultimately the choice is yours, but I recommend everyone working there at least once and get a feel for it. The work they do there is really disruptive and a worthy cause for humanity. You’ll easily get a job at any other tech after that.
