Hello everyone,
My former company was recently acquired by Prometric. Many people have quit because of the change in work environment and culture. We used to be 6 on my team but we are now 2.
They decided to move the both of us to another team in the company, with a different job title. Offered us about a 6 percent increase in our current salary but I encouraged my other colleague to push for more.
Both of us wrote separate emails to HR highlighting our value to the company especially the fact that we are just two left that know how to do our jobs. We requested a 20% increase in salary. (We both agreed on this)
They have now offered the both of us a 10% increase in salary with a one time payment of 5k CAD if we remain in the company for the next 6 months.
My other colleague has been in the company for about 7 years, while I have been for just 2.6 years. So, he earns 7k CAD more than me. (I learned that today)
With the knowledge that the company can go way beyond what they offered me (based on what my other colleague's new salary would be), do you think I should renegotiate for more than a 10% increase or just be content with what they offered me?
TC: 55k CAD
New TC: 60.5k CAD

It costs how much to hire someone new? And they’re risking tenured employees churning over it?
