Sonder HR is very tricky. They updated the counter-offer after negotiation and didn't reply to my questions after that. Culture is not good but people are incredibly smart here. If you got an alternative offer, plz don't join Sonder. I would say any tech/startup/FAANG offer is better than Sonder.
It’s still around?
Why are smart people still sticking if the culture is not good? Aren’t they smart enough to make a move? Or they are reason for the bad culture?
Didn’t they alienate their customer base with their hardline no cancel policy in 2020?
The culture is horrible. Employees are treated like disposable assets. The real brains behind the operation is the CFO, even FD is scared of him.
There's no micro management, I work like 2 hours a day, I can work from anywhere and stay at a Sonder for free. Don't really care about swags and shit. I take 2+ months off vacations, I get my expenses refunds without questions asked. Who needs culture when everyone is remote. Don't know, don't care. I like it here.
Can attest, smart people led by incompetent leaders. Terrible culture and 🥜 pay.
How’s engineering leadership?
Very smart and approachable eng leaders. Unfortunately, they don't have as much of a say in the business and biz leaders are terrible.
Work @Sonder now. Wish I didn’t.
You can grow very fast in the company since all managers are leaving lol
are you quitting soon?
